Wangler makes it official

Outside linebacker Jared Wangler became Penn State's second verbal commitment on Friday, verbally committing to Bill O'Brien during an unofficial visit with the coaching staff.
The two-star from Warren, Mich. recently received a verbal offer from Michigan State, leading some to believe that Wangler would think things over the new few weeks. However, it was Penn State's persistence from day one that put Ron Vanderlinden and the Nittany Lion coaching staff in a great position.

"It's just too good of an opportunity to pass up," Wangler said. "Penn State is a great school, Coach Vanderlinden is a great guy, a great coach, and is known for producing linebackers. It's too good of an opportunity to pass up."
Wangler earned eight additional verbal offers outside of Penn State and Michigan State, most of which were Mid-American Conference programs.
The 6-foot-2, 215 pound prospect recorded 76 tackles, 7 seven sacks and 10 tackles for loss during his junior season. He joins Wilmington, Del. native Troy Reeder as Class of 2014 commitments at the position.
Blue White Illustrated will have much more from Wangler when he becomes available.
