Signed: Devyn Ford

WHAT HE DID: After breaking out as a freshman in 2015 with 2,289 total yards of offense (1,865 rushing, 424 receiving) and 27 touchdowns, Ford maintained his stride throughout his career. He finished with more than 6,000 total rushing yards and 102 rushing touchdowns. Ford scored 115 total touchdowns when you include receiving, defense and special teams.

WHAT HE WON: North Stafford went 34-16 during Ford's four years. They had their best season in 2018, totaling 10 wins and advancing to the Virginia 5A semifinals. Over the course of his career, he's a four-time all-region, all-area and all-state selection. Ford also participated in the Under Armour All-America Game in Orlando, Fla., and the Polynesian Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii. A member of the Rivals100, he's ranked No. 40 overall in the country. Ford is the second-ranked running back and the No. 1 player in Virginia. He also earned a 3.8 cumulative GPA.

WHERE HE VISITED: Virginia Tech proved to be Penn State’s stiffest competitor, as it was the only other school to receive an official visit from the in-state prospect. However, Clemson and Ohio State also gave him a lot to consider. Ford earned just shy of 30 scholarship offers total. Other notable programs include Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas and Wisconsin.

QUOTABLE: “I feel like Saquon Barkley is a trailblazer for Penn State. You didn't really have a back like that come out until he actually did it. Now, that's set the tone for other backs behind him. ... So, I feel like having a back like that, go the first-round, second pick, it was amazing to see what they did with him and how versatile you can be [in that offense].”
