Signed: Lance Dixon

WHAT HE DID: Dixon finished the 2017 season with 122 tackles and five sacks. He then had 95 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, five sacks and 11 quarterback hurries in 2018. Dixon led West Bloomfield to an 11-3 record in 2017 and a spot in the MHSAA Division I State Championship. The Lakers followed that up with a 9-3 record in 2018 before being knocked out in the quarterfinals.

WHAT HE WON: Dixon participated in the All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas. He was also named Michigan's Defensive Player of the Year by USA Today and earned first-team all-state honors at linebacker from the Detroit Free Press, Associated Press and USA Today. Following his senior season, Dixon went from three stars to four. He’s now ranked No. 11 overall in Michigan and is the 22nd-ranked outside linebacker for the Class of 2019.

WHERE HE VISITED: Dixon took a Midwestern tour before his commitment to Penn State in July 2018. In addition to the Lions, he checked out Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Wisconsin. Overall, Dixon totaled 27 scholarship offers. Iowa, Kentucky, N.C. State, Notre Dame and Texas A&M also offered.

QUOTABLE: “I’ve played every position on the field at one point, so I think I’m just a versatile player. Come up in the box, outside of the box to cover somebody, stop the run and all that kind of stuff. I just play my game.”
