Penn State added another offensive lineman to its Class of 2018 Friday afternoon, as Cathedral Prep four-star offensive guard Juice Scruggs announced his commitment earlier today.

Over the past year, the 6-foot-3, 270 pound interior lineman has earned over a dozen scholarship offers. Schools like LSU, Michigan, Michigan state, North Carolina and Pitt all extended offers at one point or another, but this race was always between two schools: Penn State and Ohio State.

“I picked Penn State because every time I went to Happy Valley, it felt like home,” Scruggs said. “The coaches treated me like family. They kept it real with me and didn’t sugarcoat things to get their point across. Also, the other commits in the 2018 class were reaching out to me. That was a big deal to me. I felt comfortable.”

Scruggs is the fourth offensive lineman to join PSU's 2018 class.

Since 2016, Scruggs has taken a handful of visits to Penn State, including the game against Ohio State last October. His most recent visit was in April to watch spring practice.

He's now the fourth offensive lineman in Penn State's Class of 2018, joining Nana Asiedu, Antwan Reed and Bryce Effner. Scruggs is also the 15th player to join the Nittany Lions that held a four-star rating or better by Rivals.com.

Blue White Illustrated will have more on Scruggs' commitment next week.
