PSU makes moves with Robinson

Penn State head coach James Franklin and his staff made a big impression on Rivals250 running back Andre Robinson on Monday.
The Bishop McDevitt prospect says that he still has a lot to think about and more visits to take, but the Nittany Lions may have firmly put themselves in the lead following his unofficial visit to State College earlier today.

"Today was a big day for Penn State," Robinson said. "Honestly, I really enjoyed spending time with Coach Franklin. I really like him. He's made it clear that I'm a top guy for them, I'm one of their hometown guys. He was even saying that if I commit to them, he wants me to be one of those guys that really push Penn State to other recruits.
"But I can also say that my mom really likes him too. He seems genuine, he seems like he's definitely the right guy for Penn State."
The majority of Robinson's contact with the new staff so far has come from running back coach Charles Huff. Like Franklin, he too has made his intentions clear with Robinson, which is another plus for the Nittany Lions.
"I've been talking to Coach Huff more than anyone and he honestly seems like a really good guy. He's made it clear what he wants from his running backs and I feel like I fit that role. He's been telling me what he would want to see from me before I get on the field, that kind of stuff.
"So, he's another guy that really seems organized. He seems like they absolutely know what they want and that I'm part of that. I like what he says and what everyone up there says really. They're all a great group of guys."
As for where he's heading in the future, two of Penn State's top competitors are expected to get visits in March and April. He also noted that while a decision shouldn't be expected in the near future, he's not ruling out a decision this spring.
"I think I'm going to Ohio State March 22nd and then I'll be going to Virginia Tech in April for their spring game with Andrew Ford's parents. Other than that, that's all I have planned right now.
"As far as a decision, when I absolutely know what I want to do, that's when I'll make the call. I'm not going to drag things out if I'm ready, but I'm also going to take my time and not rush anything. I want to take these two visits and then if I'm comfortable then, I'll do it. If not, then I'll see more schools in the summer or in the fall and just go about things on my own terms."
Robinson had a big season for McDevitt in 2013, rushing for 2,338 yards on 260 carries, good for an average just shy of nine yards per carry. He scored 33 total touchdowns.
