Nittany Lions NFL Board
The 2014 NFL Draft is in the books and the Nittany Lions are building on their tradition of sending top players to the next level by adding three players in this year's class. With even more headed to the NFL via rookie free-agent deals, names and faces continuing their careers are set and ready to go.
Below is a breakdown of who has been drafted, who signed rookie free-agent contracts, and where they're all going.

THE SCOOP:
Robinson exceeded some draft predictions that he would be taken in the third round by sneaking into the back end of the second on Friday night in a crowded field of wideouts. With his selection by the Jacksonville Jaguars, Robinson joins former Nittany Lions Paul Posluszny, Nate Stupar and Matt Stankiewitch. He finished his career at Penn State with the single-season receptions and yardage records for receivers, among others.

THE SCOOP:
Jones builds on Penn State's long tradition of sending defensive linemen into the NFL through the draft, becoming the Nittany Lions' 11th such prospect dating back to 2003. As a senior in Happy Valley last season, Jones led the Nittany Lions with 11.5 tackles for loss and had three sacks.

Urschel, the Nittany Lions' first ever Campbell Trophy winner, was selected in the fifth round of the draft by the Baltimore Ravens, bringing full circle a career that has exceeded nearly every conceivable expectation since his arrival on Penn State's campus as a true freshman. Making the commitment to excel on the field alongside his phenomenal academic achievements, Urschel will now embark on a career in the NFL.

THE SCOOP:
Carson, considered one of the more underrated inside linebackers eligible for the draft by ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr., went undrafted this weekend but still found a home via free agency with the Cardinals. Racking up 90 tackles as a senior last season, Carson was considered a priority free agent by NFL.com and wound up as such.

Gilliam surprised some by forgoing his final year of eligibility as a Nittany Lion - a potential sixth-year medical hardship - following the 2013 season. Enjoying a healthy senior season at tackle, Gilliam's rationale was to take advantage of a professional career while the opportunity existed, all while enjoying his two degrees from Penn State. Now, he heads to Seattle as a priority undrafted free agent.

THE SCOOP:
PennLive.com reported Tuesday that the Nittany Lions' former tackle will take a tryout with the New York Giants on Wednesday this week, just a day after revealing his intention to participate in the Pittsburgh Steelers' minicamp starting Thursday. Atlanta, San Diego and Oakland have also expressed interest, the article states.
