Lions land huge hoops commit

Penn State men's basketball and head coach Patrick Chambers have landed a big one.
Class of '16 power forward Joe Hampton from Oak Hill Academy in DC area has made his verbal commitment to the Nittany Lions. The 6-foot-7, 247 pound junior is a Rivals.com four-star prospect ranked No. 60 in the country for the Class of 2016.

Highly skilled inside and out, Hampton becomes the most highly-rated recruit to commit to the Nittany Lions during the rankings era.
Hampton's commitment is the first for the Nittany Lions in the Class of 2016. He was being recruited heavily by Georgetown and Maryland and reportedly has offers from DePaul and Xavier, in addition to the Nittany Lions.
