A few weeks ago, Penn State verbal commitment and McKees Rocks (Pa.) Sto-Rox quarterback Paul Jones opened up his recruitment to take a chance to look around at other schools to make sure he was confident in the pledge that he made in January. After a visit to Penn State for the annual Blue-White scrimmage, the four-star quarterback is back in the fold.
"I'm sticking with my commitment (to Penn State)," Jones said shortly after the game. "Just being up here for the spring game and stuff like that, it's just crazy. It felt like one big family up here."
Jones, the No. 88 player in the Rivals100, visited Pittsburgh a few times since publicly opening his recruitment on April 2, including a visit to Heinz Field for the Panthers' Blue-Gold game last weekend. He also entertained interest from several schools across the country, including Tennessee, Virginia Tech, UCLA and West Virginia.
The 6-foot-3, 230-pound signal-caller became the Nittany Lions second commitment on January 17.
Jones earned first team all-state and all-conference honors this season, as he completed 115-of-186 for 2,020 yards and 24 touchdowns. He was also named to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's prestigious Fabulous 22 all-star team.
In the last two seasons, Jones has thrown for 3,870 yards, completing 228-of-398 passes.
