Jones is No. 2 for 2010

Last year, Penn State had to wait until March 24, 2008, to get its Class of 2009 underway, but this year, the Nittany Lions find themselves three weeks into January, and they already have their second commitment in the Class of 2010.
McKees Rocks (Pa.) Sto-Rox quarterback Paul Jones joined fellow WPIAL prospect Mike Hull as juniors who have made a commitment to the Nittany Lions.

Jones was in town for an unofficial visit with his family, and delivered the news to Tom Bradley and Joe Paterno on Saturday afternoon.
"It was my favorite," he said. "And just before my mom said, "PJ just follow your heart," and I knew it was time for me to commit."
The Rivals250 to Watch member for the Class of 2010 said that he was happy to get the decision out of the way early.
"It feels real good," he said. "I feel right at home."
The Nittany Lions added a verbal commitment from quarterback Kevin Newsome in December, and Newsome entered school in January. Will Jones follow the same footsteps and enroll early?
"They said that the decision on leaving high school early is up to me," he said. "And the whole situation is in my hands."
This season, Jones finished second in the WPIAL in passing, and the Vikings finished the season 8-2, and fell to Beaver in the first round of the WPIAL playoffs.
He earned first team all-state and all-conference honors, as he completed 115-of-186 for 2,020 yards and 24 touchdowns. He was also named to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's prestigious Fabulous 22 all-star team.
In the last two seasons, Jones has thrown for 3,870 yards, completing 228-of-398 passes.
