Dare Memorial Fund benefit to be held at Crowbar

Organizers of the Kevin Dare Memorial Scholarship Fund will hold an all-age show to benefit the fund on Monday, September 29 at the Crowbar in downtown State College, Pa. The show will mark the second annual event to benefit the Dare Fund. Last year's concert at the Crowbar raised over $4,250 for the fund.
The Kevin Dare Memorial Scholarship Fund has raised $58,931 to date. All proceeds from the show, which features the bands Emily's Toybox, Poptart Monkeys, Backstreet Law, Juiced, and 4Saken will go toward the scholarship fund.

Dare, a Penn State student-athlete, died while competing in the pole vault at the 2002 Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championships.
The show is sponsored by QWK Rock (97.1 FM), the Crowbar and Colonial Press. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door. Advance tickets may be purchased on-line at www.ticketweb.com or by calling the Crowbar at 814-237-0426. Tickets are also available by contacting any featured band, the Dare family or by e-mailing darebenefit@hotmail.com. Doors open at 8 p.m. with the bands taking the stage at 8:30 p.m.
