Penn State's first-team all-Big Ten point guard Tony Carr capped his sophomore season with an NIT championship in New York Thursday night.

Monday, he announced his next move.

Surrounded by Nittany Lions head coach Patrick Chambers and his parents at the Bryce Jordan Center, Carr announced that he'll be working toward his NBA career this spring.

"I thought about this very, very, very long and hard," Carr said. "I talked it over with my mom and my dad and my coaches, and we just came to the conclusion that the best thing for me moving forward is to make that move to the NBA. And I definitely have the intent of signing with an agent."

He said that he's very confident in where he'll go in the draft, and that definitely played a part in his decision. He said those indications are that he could go as high as the middle of the first round, and anywhere as low as the mid-second round.

Said Carr, "Most of the feedback was positive, and I definitely gave it a little bit of thought not to sign with an agent and test the waters, but I felt like my dream is to get drafted into the NBA. I feel like I have the opportunity to chase that dream, so that's what I'm going to do moving forward."
