More staff changes announced Monday

Penn State football announced Monday afternoon that strength and conditioning coach Craig Fitzgerald, along with assistant coaches Stan Hixon, Charles London, and Anthony Midget, all have resigned from their positions according to team spokesperson Jeff Nelson.

"Assistant coaches Stan Hixon, Charles London and Anthony Midget have submitted their resignations, effective today," Nelson wrote in an email to Blue White Illustrated on Monday afternoon. "Strength and conditioning coaches Craig Fitzgerald,Dwight Galt IV and Sean Hayeshave submitted their resignations, effective today."

Multiple reports have stated that at least Hixon, London and Fitzgerald will be joining O'Brien's assistant coaching staff in Houston.

Along with the announced resignations of both Ron Vanderlinden and Charlie Fisher following the 2013 football season, the Nittany Lion football program is currently left with just four assistants as of Monday afternoon: John Butler, Larry Johnson, Mac McWhorter and John Strollo, based upon the school's official Web site. The latest moves, of course, all coming after former head coach Bill O'Brien's departure to the NFL's Houston Texans.

Junior wide receiver Allen Robinson's decision to make himself eligible for April's NFL Draft adds to what has been an unmistakable offseason of change for the Penn State football program.

Meanwhile, as Penn State's six-person search committee continues to pursue the 16th head coach in the program's history, the Nittany Lions remain on winter break until Monday, Jan. 13.

Blue White Illustrated will continue to track this developing story.
