* Special thanks to our friend Kevin Noon at BuckeyeGrove.com for the video.
Former Penn State center Matt Stankiewitch sat down with reporters at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis last week in preparation for his first showing in front of scouts and general managers.
He finished the Combine with a grade of 52.15, according to the NFL's Combine site.
Here is how he finished in each event:
40-yard dash: 5.43 seconds
Bench: 27 reps
Vertical leap: 24 inch
Broad jump: 92 inch
Three-cone drill: 7.9 seconds
20-yard shuttle: 4.96 seconds
Check out what he had to say about his time as a Nittany Lion, his game, and more, below:
On how they handled NCAA sanctions:
"The best thing that we could do at the time was to be the best Penn State football team that we could be. Our coaches believed in us, we believed in our coaches, and we had a very successful season."
On his style of play:
"My style of play is very nasty. I finish people on the ground. Strong, very reliable, consistent, athletic and with leadership.
On the toughest part of NCAA sanctions:
"There were many hard parts. Before the season even started, just trying to keep the team together and get everyone on the same page was a very hard task. You don't know the future and it's an uneasy feeling. But, once you have those people on the same page and people determined to get the job done, everything goes a lot smoother."
On longterm effect of Penn State's 2012 season:
"I hope we can make an impact for future players and I hope the program just grows from this. That was our objective, to not let the program go downhill. We wanted to get back up to the top, we want them to go to the National Championship."
