Looney leads Running Rebels past Indiana Elite

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Milwaukee Hamilton star Kevon Looney would much rather be competing on the circuit with the Running Rebels than drafting a list of finalists or mulling over possible official visit destinations.

"Some of the guys in our core group have been playing together since second grade, others since fifth grade. That makes it much more fun," said Looney. We're like brothers. We look out for each other."

Looney's teammates may have his back on the basketball court. But they couldn't prevent the cavalcade of questions directed at the No. 8 player in the 2014 Rivals150 following his team's 91-85 win over Indiana Elite at Spiece Fieldhouse in the opening game of The Bill Hensley Memorial Run-N-Slam All-Star Classic.

The Hamilton star was courteous with his responses when asked about his favorites. But Looney also made it clear that he wasn't ready to settle on a group of finalists.

"I don't have a Top 5 yet, everything is still open if some newcomers want to come in and recruit me," said Looney. "But I have said that the top schools that have been recruiting me have been Florida, Michigan State, Michigan, Duke, Wisconsin, Georgetown, and Tennessee. Those schools have actually shown the most interest."
