Winston Shepard Refutes Idea That He Has Top 5

Findlay Prep of Las Vegas, NV invaded the Mid-South today, participating in the first annual Youth Athletic Foundation Basketball Classic. Hosted by Lausanne collegiate College, the in-season exempted tournament is bringing together 14 schools from 7 different states. Action began with the Warriors of Memphis Central grinding down the host Lausanne Lynx, 59-38. Central ran out to an incredible 17-0 lead before the Lynx began to slowly chip away, drawing to within eight (28-20) at the half. 2012 super recruit Jarnell Stokes (who is feeling the love from the hometown University, along with scores of other potential suitors) got in a good groove in the second half to lead his team to the runaway victory.

In the featured game, Memphis White Station defended the home turf against perennial power Findlay Prep. Despite an other-worldly 46 points from Spartan senior Andre Hollins, the Pilots eked out a hard-fought 70-65 victory. Which brings us to Winston Shepard, another University of Memphis target in the Class of 2012.
