DT Webb talks Orange
Sicklerville (N.J.) Timber Creek defensive tackle Greg Webb holds double digit offers and he is not done collecting them. He has offers from the likes of Florida State, Miami, Oklahoma and Syracuse.
The Orange were one of the first schools to offer Webb and he was happy with the news.
"Syracuse offered me last school year around April or May. It was close to my first. I thought it was a great opportunity. Syracuse is a great football school they have a legendary program. I am happy to have an offer from them."
Webb, 6-foot-2, 290 pounds has been keeping tabs on the Orange all season long.
"It is a great place and they are going to the ACC, moving conferences. They are getting better and they will have a good season next year, they are about to sign some good players. They are just working hard at getting better."
Syracuse moving to the ACC is big for Webb.
"The first thing I think about when I think of Syracuse now is ACC baby. Syracuse going to the ACC makes them a more desirable place to play."
The defensive tackle prospect has already been on the Syracuse campus for a visit and he liked what he saw.
"I went up to the game when Syracuse played Rutgers. It was great I loved the fans, I loved the Dome, and just everything about it. I used to live near Syracuse, so I am familiar with it."
For the Orange Tim Daoust is recruiting Webb and the two have started a solid player/coach relationship.
"Coach Daoust is recruiting me. He is a good guy and he tells me a lot of things. He is also always telling me what I can do to improve my game and he tells me that he has a plan for me."
This past season the Orange did struggle at times with the defensive line and Webb took notice.
"I was watching a lot and they struggled inside a little, but the defensive ends were great. I think I would help out Syracuse in the interior. I can bring a lot of tenacity to the game. I like to make big plays and help out the team in any way I can."
With a long offer list does Webb have any favorites?
"Nobody is sticking out as far as a favorite school."
A decision is something that will not have a set date as Webb will just be looking for the right feeling.
"I am just going to go with the flow until it hits me."
