It was winter break at University Park when this game was played which means most all of the 40,000 students were still at home. That explains the small attendence in large part. Michigan is usually a very good draw as are all BigTen games. PSU will put 12,000 - 15,000 fannies in the seats when the opponent is an attractive draw but the team also needs to carry its own weight by playing high quality basketball. We haven't seen that yet this year and the team looks over-matched and short of talent every time they square off with another BigTen team. Our historical BB woes at PSU are not dissimilar from the on-going frustrations at IU with the football program. Having said that, the NIT title in NYC that we won last year was really well-supported by PSU fans and was a proud moment for the program.
