Penn State's Class of 2017 set to arrive for summer enrollment

The next group of Nittany Lions are set to enroll.

Some are already on campus, but this weekend, formally, marks the arrival of the Class of 2017. On Monday classes begin for the second summer semester and the next grouping of Penn State football players officially embark upon their college careers.

BWI expects all of the incoming scholarship freshmen to be on campus by the end of this weekend, aside from Harrisburg defensive end Damion Barber. Barber has delayed his enrollment in order to take additional classwork. His date for enrollment at this point is unknown.

In February, Penn State signed 21 recruits to letters of intent. It gave it the No. 12-rated class in the country, according to Rivals.com, and and third-best in the Big Ten, behind Ohio State (No. 2) and Michigan (4). In total Penn State signed one five-star prospect, 10 four-stars and 10-three stars.

The five-star – Lamont Wade – is already enrolled, having graduated from Clairton (Pa.) High early. He has been on campus since January, went through spring practice and was one of the team's top performers on the defensive side of the ball during practice. Classmates Michael Miranda, KJ Hamler and Brelin Faison-Walden joined Wade as early enrollees. They, too, await the arrival of their new teammates, some of whom have already started to trickle in.

As they arrive, let's review the latest incoming class and the highlight plays that helped them get to Penn State.
