Personal: 2008 post-training camp update: Benton is clearly Purdue's No. 1 center. 2008: Received team's Pit Bull Award - Offense (exemplified and sustained tenacity and intense play) for spring season.
2007: Appeared in 12 games as reserve center and guard ... part of offensive line that helped Purdue lead Big Ten in total offense at 435.9 yards per game and rank 12th nationally in passing offense at 307.2 yards per game.
2006: Appeared in two games as reserve ... played vs. Indiana State on Sept. 2 and at Northwestern on Oct. 14.
2005: Moved from tight end to offensive tackle during spring season ... moved to center during training camp ... played as reserve vs. Akron on Sept. 10.
2004: Did not play after joining team as a walkon.
