Big Boy Week finally came to an end and so did the undefeated season for the Washington State University men's basketball team as the fourth-ranked Pitt Panthers defeated the Cougars, 57-43 in the final game of the Legends Classic in Newark, New Jersey.

Unlike their five wins when they frequently had multiple players scoring in double digits, the Cougars were only able to get one player in double digits against the Panthers, as senior Daven Harmeling scored 12 points to lead the Cougars. Freshman Klay Thompson was the rebounding leader with six but also the foul leader with four.

The first half went as Wazzu would have liked as they held Pitt to 33% shooting from the field on defense but were unable to take advantage of that advantage by grabbing the halftime lead. The Cougars shot 52% but still trailed by three at the break at 26-23 - mostly due to committing 10 turnovers in the half.

Pitt took that opportunity and ran with it in the second half as they ran off an 11-0 run to take a 13-point lead, which Wazzu whittled down to six. But the Cougars could not get over the hump in the game's final five minutes.

Senior guard Taylor Rochestie had four assists but also eight turnovers while senior center Aron Baynes led the team with two steals.

The loss drops the Cougars to 5-1 overall on the year.
