Three Lions taken in NFL Draft
Jordan Hill was chosen with the No. 87-overal selection to the Seattle Seahawks in the 2013 NFL Draft Friday night.Former Penn State defensive tackle
A third-round selection, Hill moves on from a career with the Nittany Lions that included first-team All-Big Ten honors as a senior by the conference media and coaches, and second team All-America status by Athlon Sports,
Hill finished with 64 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 8.5 TFL, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He now moves on to Seattle, where he'll join fellow former Nittany Lions, Deon Butler and Michael Robinson.
Saturday, two more Nittany Lions joined the fold as linebackers Gerald Hodges and Michael Mauti were selected in the fourth and seventh rounds, respectively, by the Minnesota Vikings.
Hodges was taken early Saturday afternoon as the No. 120-overall selection, just months after finishing his senior season with the Nittany Lions. A first-team All-Big Ten linebacker in 2011 and second-team honoree in 2012, Hodges finished with 109 tackles and earned a spot among the semifinalists for the 2012 Butkus Award.
Mauti, meanwhile, was taken with the seventh selection in the seventh round, joining Hodges in Minnesota. Though he was forced out of action for the final game and a half due to his third anterior cruciate ligament tear, Mauti still racked up 98 tackles and has quickly rehabilitated from his injury.
Sending hand-written letters to representatives of all 32 NFL teams, Mauti recently self-released a video of the progress he's made in his rehabilitation process.
