Williams still high on the Jackets
Union Grove defensive end Anthony Williams is not in a big hurry to make a verbal commitment, but he still has two teams he likes better than others. Georgia Tech and Auburn are the early leaders for the four-star end.
"Georgia Tech and Auburn are the only schools I have been able to get to and those two schools have been on the top," Williams said.
Williams likes the Yellow Jackets because of the chemistry he feels with the coaches and players.
"I really like the players and coaches I talked to up there," he said. "The chemistry is there and the education is there. Right now I am eliminating schools by weighing the pros and cons of going there."
During the May evaluation period Williams expects a lot of visitors and phone calls from coaches courting the talented defensive end.
"I have been on the phone a lot as coaches call me with their one call," he said. "It has been pretty busy, but I am going to enjoy every part of it. A lot of coaches are coming out so it should be a really busy next week for me."
Unlike many prospects, Williams will avoid school summer camps and take regular visits.
"I am not going to do any camps this year," Williams said. "I feel like the schools that have seen me and offered me know what I can do. I am planning on getting around on some visits, but no camps."
Making a verbal commitment is not a high priority for Williams right now. He is enjoying the process and hopes to make a couple of long distance recruiting visits before he makes a final decision.
"Right now I do not have a deadline. I am hoping to get out to Oklahoma State and Stanford out West. I got offers from Duke and Purdue recently, so I am adding them to the list."
