KU advances behind triple-double from Aldrich
Minneapolis - At the end of the day, only 16 teams will remain standing in the NCAA Tournament. However, for No 3 seed Kansas, its ticket to the Indianapolis, Ind., site of the Sweet 16 for the Midwest Region, has already been stamped. For one Jayhawk, KU's win over No. 11 seed Dayton, 60-43, will be long remembered. For the first time in the history of Kansas basketball, Cole Aldrich recorded a triple-double. He scored 13-points, pulled down 20 rebounds and 10 blocks against the Flyers. Minutes after the game, Aldrich walked to the podium inside the Metrodome with a big smile on his face. After his performance, nobody could blame the 6-foot-11, 245-pound center from Bloomington, Minn.
For Aldrich, had it not been for his five turnovers, his performance against Dayton would have been just about flawless. After Chris Wright opened up the game with a jumper, Aldrich answered with six-straight points for the Jayhawks.
