Where does Pierre-Louis stand?
Most of Boston College's verbal commits from the Class of 2009 are sticking with the Eagles in spite of the recent coaching change. Not only that, they're optimistic about their future under new head coach Frank Spaziani. What does junior linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis think about all that has transpired?
As the Eagles' only commit from the Class of 2010 it's natural that many would wonder where he stands given the changes that have taken place.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound linebacker had received offers from Virginia and Duke prior to giving his pledge to BC in September. In order to make a decision that early in the process one would have to imagine Pierre-Louis was very confident in the choice he was making.
What he insists he was and may still be there are some unanswered questions lingering in his mind.
"Well, it was exam week here at the school so I just finished my midterms," Pierre-Louis explained. "Because of that I haven't been able to put much thought into everything.
"With the whole situation, the changes don't look bad. I'm probably going to talk things over with my father and my coach to get some feedback, just to make sure I'm doing the right thing. I want to see what they think about everything."
So would he still consider himself a solid verbal for the Eagles?
"Right now, at this moment, yes," he responded. "But is there a possibility that could change? Yes. That could change."
Pierre-Louis said coaches from Virginia, UConn, Stanford and Notre Dame visited his school in the fall and he was contacted by a coach from USC as well.
How important was Jeff Jagodzinski to Pierre-Louis when he made his decision?
"Coach Jags, he's a good guy. Our school gives us a lot of school work so I didn't know too much about things early on. When I went to meet him I had no idea he was the head coach. When I left his office my friend's father said, 'Do you know who that was? That was the head coach!'
"He was a factor but the deciding factor was definitely coach (Bill) McGovern. My relationship him was really important. I went up there a couple of times and really liked everything, too."
