Tim Thompson's ''One Thing''

As the sun sets on the pre-conference portion of Vanderbilt's schedule, VandySports.com checks in with former Commodore great and current radio color commentator Tim Thompson to get his take on the state of the program, his reflections on the Rice win, today's UMass game, and his thoughts on the rest of the Southeastern Conference.

OK, Tim, the one thing that stood out to you this week in watching this team play is?
I just think that their defensive effort, against Iona especially in the second half, was tremendous. There were shots of it [against Rice] that you saw.

I think the one concerning thing I think Coach Stallings has right now is that the second unit coming in tends to drop off a little bit, or at least it did tonight. And so, I think that's the one thing he's talking about right now, that there needs to be, you know, a little bit more energy level and intensity level by that second unit.
