KU survives GT sting
When No. 3 Kansas (11-0, 0-0) rolled into Atlanta, Ga., to take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (4-5, 0-0), they knew it was going to be a battle. Tech, who hadn't played a game since Dec. 5, had the athleticism and talent to compete with KU. After the Jayhawks built up a 13-point second half lead, key turnovers and big shots from Tech guard Lewis Clinch brought GT within one point with only seconds left on the clock. Sherron Collins hit two key free throws and a lay up with two seconds left to seal the win for KU, as they become the first team to 11 wins on the season, taking the game 71-66. Russell Robinson led Kansas with 17 points.
Tuesday night's game started off as most thought it would, tied throughout the first half. Kansas was able to build a lead late in the first period, going up by seven at the half.
