The Long, Good Bye
Oregon was ostracized from the Undefeated Club two weeks ago when they lost to California in Eugene, but a funny thing has happened since then - USC lost. Those two words have not found themselves next to each other very often during Pac-10 conference play and the significance of them is clear for the Ducks because USC with one conference loss, has yet to play all the teams currently ahead of them - and that includes Oregon.
Yes, but how does this affect the Oregon-Wazzu game this Saturday? Well, the Ducks are one college football game removed from possibly being in the top spot of the conference and they happened to have had a bye week last week. When Oregon has a bye week during the recent tenure of head coach Mike Bellotti, it has almost been akin to printing money - the Ducks are 6-0 in games after bye weeks in the last six years.
