Dawgs rebuilding their defense

UGASports.com The biggest overall area of concern for the Georgia Bulldogs, as they head into the 2007 season, is their defense. Georgia is replacing eight defensive starters from the 2006 team, including all of their starting linebackers and both starting defensive ends. The departed players accounted for 58.4 percent of Georgia's total tackles in 2006 and 75.7 percent of their sacks last year. Of the remaining players from 2006, 16 players have either started or played significant time in at least two games or more as a Bulldog, so Georgia is not completely inexperienced. The remaining 16 defensive players are redshirt freshmen, true freshmen, or JUCO transfers with the exception of safety Antavious Coates, a redshirt sophomore, who has never played a down of college football.
