Dingle comfortable in his own skin

WVSports.com Johnny Dingle says he is feeling fine, these comfortable days of July, but that could spell bad news for West Virginia football opponents' quarterbacks. Dingle, 6-foot-3, 270, came to head coach Rich Rodriguez in January 2004 as a hoped-for edge rusher. He has shown flashes of "sack-ability" in the ensuing years. But his play has fluctuated with his weight. Dingle signed with the Florida Gators in fall of '04, but Clearinghouse issues cut short the Miami product's stint in Gainesville, so he transferred. When he came to strength & conditioning coordinator Mike Barwis, he was 6-3 and 245. The DE increased to 265 in 2005.. Barwis strengthened him up to 275 last season. After a four-tackle, two-sack, one-forced-fumble performance against Mississippi State, Dingle seemed to tire toward the end of the year.
