GoPowercat.com LAS VEGAS - Just how much better has Kansas State gotten in the last month? How about 40 points better? Putting a numerical value on improvement may be impossible, but the Wildcats completed a 40-point turnaround by defeating New Mexico 72-56 Saturday night after falling to the Lobos 78-54 at New Mexico on Nov. 21.
Improvement aside, the bigger story may be the fact that the victory earned the Wildcats the title of Las Vegas Holiday Classic Champions in a field also including a Top-10 rated Wichita State squad that finished the weekend 0-2.
Even after walking off the court carrying the championship trophy to the cheers of approximately 500 Wildcat fans gathered at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, K-State couldn't help but talk about the difference in the two matchups between the Wildcats and Lobos.
