AU set to host good South Alabama team

AuburnSports.com Jeff Lebo never really thought about the implications of scheduling his team to play South Alabama this season.
As the Jaguars have improved under fifth-year head coach John Pelphrey, bigger schools - including Auburn and Alabama - haven't exactly gone out of their way to schedule USA.
For Lebo, though, South Alabama is just one of many hurdles on the Tigers' tough nonconference schedule.
"I don't know the history of not scheduling them," Lebo said. "It's probably because they are so doggone good. That's probably why they haven't scheduled them in the past.
