Jackson injured shoulder in practice

The injuries continue to mount for the Kansas Jayhawks. During his weekly press conference on Friday, Bill Self announced that junior forward Darnell Jackson injured his shoulder during an early morning practice. Jackson Slant was on hand for the press conference and has the latest updates on Jackson, Jeremy Case and Sasha Kaun.

Jackson Should Be Ready For Towson On Sunday:

"Darnell tweaked his shoulder today," said Self. "I'm sure his status will be okay for Sunday. I think Darnell has done a great job of being a producer from a points and rebounds standpoint. I'm not going to get too carried away in that he is play great, because obviously, nobody played well the other night.

"I do think that he is better than he was," he added. "He has certainly done a good job of scoring the ball and rebounding the ball."

Unless something changes from now until Sunday, Jackson should be ready to go against the Tigers. Through the first two games of the year, Jackson is averaging 11-points nine rebounds per game.

How Has KU Responded In Practice Since The Loss To ORU:

"I would say, you know, it's hard to say because yesterday was a day off," said Self. "We went early this morning and we will be back and go again tonight. You know, 6:00 AM are usually not killer practices. The thing about losing that stinks is the potential to compound the problem.

"The positive thing, if there is any positive, is you can identify certain things and be exposed in a certain way that kind of helps eliminate an issue before it becomes a bigger issue later in the season," he added. "Some things like that have been addressed that we've been telling our guys all along that maybe we haven't totally bought in to."
