Deonta Vaughn is in an odd position on the Bearcat roster. As one of the many newcomers on the team, Vaughn is the only freshman.

Despite his youth, Vaughn is not intimidated playing against D-I opponents having played at Harmony Prep last year.

"It helped me a lot playing against some good teams, and playing against some good players," Vaughn said. "We had like five players go D-I last year."

Vaughn said that the biggest adjustment in going from prep school to Cincinnati was becoming more of a point guard and a floor leader.

"I'm just trying to lead and get everyone in the right spot so I can make myself look good and make them look good," Vaughn said.

Jamual Warren said that he was taking the younger Vaughn under his wing and teach him some things, but Vaughn said it's more the other way around.
