Will the Ducks clean up with Billy Winn?

Most high school students will tell you that they like to hang out with their friends when you ask about what they like to do. It's rare that you get an answer to that kind of question, that would please just about any parent. Billy Winn of Las Vegas High School in Las Vegas has one. Among other things, Winn "likes to clean house" in his spare time. He also likes to play a lot of football. His ability to combine the two has made him a hot target for college football teams this summer.


Winn has garnered "11 or 12 scholarship offers" so far this recruiting cycle before he has even played a down as a senior for the Las Vegas football squad. His offers include offers from all over the West including Arizona State, Wshington State, Oregon State and Oregon from the PAC 10 and Texas Tech from the Big 12. Duck Sports Authority caught up with Winn recently to see where the Oregon Ducks stand in their recruitment of the 6'2, 265 pound defensive lineman.


When we spoke with Winn, one of the things we asked him was what he thought about the Ducks. He had quite a bit to say. "One of the things I like about the Ducks is that they have a great coaching staff," Winn told us, "they treat their players with respect. I also like the way they play. They play a very physical, very tough style of defense. That definitely is something I like to see and something that I could see myself as a part of"
