If you were wondering why Penn State has taken the approach it has with the recruitment of athlete DeAndre Thompkins (6-1, 170) from Swansboro, N.C., all you have to do is take a quick look at the number of verbal commitments for the Class of 2014 since signing day for the Class of 2013 back on Feb. 6th.

I believe it will surprise most of our Lions Den members to find out that 150 players from the Class of 2014 have verbaled to one of the schools in the six BCS conferences plus Notre Dame in the past 30 days.
