BlueWhiteIllustrated.com Back in the 1970s, 1980s and early-1990s the Big Ten was basically known as the "Big Two (Ohio State and Michigan) and the Little Eight."
To say the least, the Buckeyes and Wolverines dominated Big Ten football in every phase.
Once Penn State joined the conference in 1993, and with the success the Nittany Lions had the first two years in conference competition winning 14 of 16 conference games and posting a combined overall record of 22-2 in 1993 and 1994, everyone including Ohio State and Michigan landed an important wake up call.
