Kenny ready to enroll
Linebacker John Kenny has wrapped up his high school career and is getting ready to enroll at Iowa in January and officially join the Hawkeyes. We caught up with the 6-foot-2, 210-pound Indiana native to talk about enrolling early and why he went that route, his future with the Hawkeyes, and much more.
Q: What was it like wrapping up high school this month?
KENNY: It was a lot of fun. I had a chance to say goodbye to all of the coaches and teachers and everyone that I've basically grown up with. I've been blessed to have a chance to go to such a nice school like Iowa and have the opportunity to play college football, so I hope I can represent the whole school and community well. I'm excited to start this next chapter of my life and see where it takes me.
As a senior, Kenny finished with 80 tackles, 14 TFL, 4 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery in leading Carmel to a 7-2 record. In April, the three-star prospect verbally committed to Iowa over scholarship offers from Arizona, Boise State, Illinois, Indiana, Northwestern, and Purdue, among others.
