Will McGill land an SU offer?
Controlling New York State is important for the Syracuse Orange when it comes to football recruiting. They have offered a lot of the top prospects from the state, but there is one players still waiting to see if the Orange are going to offer.
Marcus McGill from Rochester (N.Y.) Gates Chili High School is that prospect waiting to hear from the Orange on where he stands.
"I'm looking to talk more about that with the coaches when I take my visit to the spring game and see where I stand as far as that, but so far nothing yet.
The trip to the Syracuse spring game will be his second visit to Syracuse in the past couple of months. When he did go on his visit there were a lot of items that stuck out.
"The coaching staff stuck out. They are really focused on bringing in respectable student athletes and turn them into men not only winning games which I'm sure they will do but to also just create men, I really like that and respect that."
Besides the coaching staff there is one other factor that Syracuse has that makes them standout for the Empire State prospect.
"As a school Syracuse would be a great fit for me, I want to major in communications and Syracuse is the top school for that major."
Since the Orange have his major the next question is what does he think about the football program and his answer was short and to the point.
"I think Coach Marrone is really turning it around and that pinstripe bowl was just the beginning."
Other than Syracuse McGill has a couple visits set up for the next few weeks.
"I am heading to Bowling Green this weekend, the Syracuse spring game, Rutgers, and hopefully to Boston College."
As it stands now most school are looking at the prospect to play wide receiver and he spoke about what he feels makes him a division one prospect.
"I would say my play making ability, I feel like the team could rely on me if a big play is needed and also leadership.
Right now McGill holds an offer from Buffalo.
